If you mean why do all pictures of watches and dial faced clocks always show 10:10.

The answer is so the the hour and minute hands of the watch/clock do not cover up the brand name of the watch/clock.

Here's what I've heard but am not sure it's true.

10:10 is the time that the guy who invented the clock died.

Question: Why didn't they use the guy's birth time?

Answer: Because no one had a clock since it wasn't invented yet.

One theory I've heard, and don't quote me on this, is that 10:10 is important in advertising.

The models in ads would have their watches set to 10:10. The theory is that the watches would have a "happy face." It sounds silly now, but you can see a face there. The hands form the smile, and the 11 and 1 kind of form the eyes.

Advertising is a funny business. They go for emotions and our base feelings. Do they create stupid commercials because they like throwing money away? No, the commercials are intentionally stupid because they appeal to the base need of a large portion of people. For that reason, the watch hands might work.

I'm not in advertising. I hate advertisers.

Assuming you are not asking a maths question...

On a typical analog clock/watch, the hour and minute hands at this time look like a tick, which gives a sense of ok, correct, good feelings.
