what are the small hand-shower next to toilets in the Middle East used for?

left hand is the poop hand never shake the left hand btw.
the spray is to wash they dont use toilet paper so its hand and a spray.

i think the spray and the old left finger is for other reasons but lets not go there

Washing the left hand. They still don't use TP in many areas (and this was the way it was before TP). That is why they only eat with the right hand.
