Please do not match your makeup to your clothes. Wear what brings your eyes out, which is browns, golds and greens for your color eyes. You can also do purples which is an analagis color to brown and will really make your eyes pop, but if you do a color that is not an earth tone don't go crazy! A little goes a long way.

Some people are really good about matching the eye shadow to their clothes, but I am not, so I stay with a classic eyeshadow combination. That's a dark brown, a medium brown and a light doeskin highlight. Medium brown all over the lid, dark in teh crease, light on the brow bone to highlight. For everyday I line with dark brown and if I wear mascara I use a black/brown mascara. I have a white sparkly powder that I put on over the highlight for special occasions or at night, and at night I use black mascara and line upper and lower lids with black powder.
This system goes with everything I wear and looks natural but nice.

You could wear any color that your heart desires with dark brown eyes. They are the perfect eye color for make-up because anything will go! Violet-plum pinkish tones would be best to brighten your eyes however.
It is best to match your eyeshadow with your eye color, but in your case you could also match with your clothes.

It is good to know that you have dark brown eyes, it actually complements every eyeshadow color there is...
When choosing the right color, it is true that it should be of match with your clothes to emphasize the coordination..

It's good to match an eyeshadow with your clothing but if it doesn't look right on you, then you should take it off.
Eye shadows that compliment dark brown eyes are shades of pink, tangerine, red, purple, pastel yellow.

I use this alamay product called play up. the line has different combinations of eyeshadow for different color eyes. the one i use for my dark brown eyes has really neutral colors like purple and brown. it really brings out my eyes and i love it.

I think it depends on the colour of your outfit, i mean if you wear black or dark blue or even red, you dont want to match your eyeshadow to that!! but if you're wearing something like pink or green, i suppose it would be okay to match.
for dark brown eyes, gold, pink and plum eyeshadow look good. also turqouise looks good.
if you wear dark colours wear pastel colours or something plain like a basic gold eyeshadow.
experiment and you will find something that looks good.

matching eyeshadow to your clothes can be kind of risky-if you're wearing white, black, or if you're dark and wearing a pastel colored shirt of if youre light and you're wearing a dark colored shirt. whatever looks best on your skin tone.
