I am sure that you are not an idiot. You are very sensible to ask this question and learn about proper formatting. Most publishers will have on their website a list of their specific guidelines - for example, what fonts are best (or what is unacceptable), spacing, margins. It might be an idea to download some of these guidelines, just to get an idea of what is required. However, as a guide, the following would be acceptable for many publishers: - Font. The best fonts to use are the ones that are common and easy to read. Times New Roman and Arial are two easy to read fonts. - Font size. 12 point. - Margins. 3cm. Regarding spacing under a sentence. While until about 15 to 20 years ago it was common for two spaces to be left after each sentence, this convention has now become outdated. There is no need for more than one space.

I'm confused by your question. First, if it's a formal paper, you need to know that the proper contraction of "you are" is "you're," not "your."
Is it an assignment for school? An essay? A term paper?
It's usually safe to double-space papers for school assignments. It makes it considerably easier for the teacher to read and grade.
And yes, it has to have paragraphs. It's a good idea to make yourself an outline of the basic topics you'd like to cover first, then write your paper along the same lines. Here's what every paper needs:
An introduction: Find an interesting way to introduce the subject you'll be covering. Give an overview of your main point in your thesis statement, which is the LAST sentence of the introduction.
A body: Cover all the points you laid out in your outline. Make your argument, tell your story, write the meat of the essay or paper.
A conclusion: Wrap up your paper and summarize what you covered.
Size ten to twelve font is preferred. Times New Roman is a safe font to use.
Hope that helps.

In writing a formal paper, here is what you do. Use a font like Arial or Times and keep it size twelve. Don't make the title bigger, don't underline it, don't bold it. Keep the title the same as the body text. And also double space your paper. Don't forget to properly reference your paper, if you are information from everybody else. Either quote in the middle of the paper OR provide a reference/sources cited at the end of your paper.

When you're writing, dear, not when your writing.
Use a standard font, such as Times, Helvetica, Arial, or Courier, 12 point.
Double space. Indent new paragraphs 5 spaces (best to set and use a tab).

Anything legible is fine. Traditionally, Times New Roman size 11 or 12.
You should double space (writing on alternate lines only) if the work is going to be corrected.
Good Luck!

Times new roman or courier new font, 10-14 font but usaully 12, and always double space. That's my universities standard regualtions anyways but you may want to check with your own school. Also, it may depend on wether or not you were told to write in APA or MLA style.
