I smoke a generic brand of cigarette, they cost about 1.60 a pack and I usually smoke half a pack to a pack a day. I started smoking when I was 16 not because I thought it was cool or anything, but because all of my family did it. I tend to smoke more when I am stressed or when I'm bored. I have tried quitting before as you can tell it didn't work. I just don't think I have the willpower to do it yet. When I tried quitting before I was trying to quit for someone else, but really when someone quits smoking it has to be for themselves.

SMOKING IS AN ADDICTION.
SMOKER'S ARE DRUG ADDICTS.
Yes, I'm a smoker. That's why I'm answering this question. I smoke several types of cigarettes to include Marlboro Reds, Marlboro Mediums, Marlboro Light 72s, Marlboro Lights, Newports, etc. I smoke around a pack a day. Sometimes more and sometimes less.
I rarely drink, but I've heard from others that drinking and smoking work very well together. I guess I smoke the most when I'm just sitting around. But I never smoke inside my own house.
You could call me a health concious smoker. I go to kickboxing classes and also to the gym. I drink protein drinks and try to drink a good amount of water and eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. And I have quit several times in the past.
You see, it's not that hard for me to quit. I wear a nicotine patch for a day or two and I don't need to smoke any longer. The hardest part is staying a quitter.
But having smoked for five years (from 15 to 20) and then for 8 years (from 27 to Now), I can say that I'm much more motivated when I don't smoke. When I didn't smoke I'd get up in the morning and go running for an hour. ( I actually got my pulse down to 58 BPM. I was told by my doctor that I had an athletic heartrate.) After running, I'd get ready for the day.
I really don't like cigarettes much. Many smokers don't like cigarettes. It's just too hard for many to quit. Nicotine is a very addictive drug. Cigarettes should be made illegal.
Cigarettes are an addiction. Once you quit them, the mental addiction is something you'll have to fight for the rest of your life.
Cigarettes, Second Hand Smoke, and Chewing Tobacco raise the risk of a heart attack by up to 3 times. Isn't it funny how all addictive drugs with the exception of nicotine are controlled? Why aren't cigarettes a controlled substance? How you ever seen a cigarette ingredients label? Even though it's a consumable product like food, drink, or bubble gum, an ingredients label is not required for it.

Hi! I'm a smoker and I smoke Wills Navy Cut brand of cigarettes. I pay approximately half a $ for a pack of 10's. I smoke around 2-3 packs a day. I smoke most when I'm under tension and hard pressed with work. I have reduced in the past to 1 -2 cigarettes a day for a few days but never made a serious attempt to quit though one day I will kick this habit once and for all.

I'm from australia and here smokes are rediculously expensive.
I smoke mainly Marlboro Lights or Longbeach Menthols. Marlboro Light depending on where you get them range anywhere from 9-12$ a pck for 20s. A carton of M.L.s is about $80. I generally smoke about a pack every three/four days (not a hige smoker) and I find I smoke more when I'm out with mates getting pissed. I have tried quitting but I've only been smoking just over a year and I wish I'd never started. It's a terrible habit and i'm only 20 years old. I don't want to be smoking when I'm 30 or 40. I plan on quitting as soon as i feel i'm ready (which most likely will be any day now).

I have changed brands several times over my 30 years of smoking. I smoke a carton a week which is just a little over a pack a day. I smoke the most now while driving or on the phone. I have tried quitting several times and failed miserably. I actually go into panic attacks within 10 hours of my last cigarette. I would love to be free of this nasty habit. I have tried just quitting, patches, hypnotherapist, isolation, titrating and all with the same results. I really wish they would have rehab centers for smokers like they do with meth or alcohol. Somewhere we could go for Medical treatment to help with the withdrawal. Somewhere insurance would pay for us to get clean.

Camel Gold
$3 to $4.50
Only smoke socially (not very often) maybe one pack per month and I never finish the whole pack.... they get stale and then I have to toss about a half pack.
I smoke when I am hanging out and having a beer or drink
I can go months without smoking (and drinking) - I have two young children, so it's kinda a perk.
Never tried "quitting" but I would like to be able to have a drink without wishing for a smoke (I've done it before - not smoking while drinking) blah!
Are you doing a school project??

I am 34 and I smoke 1 pack per week. I pay about $3.45. I find that I have to smoke after every meal. I also smoke when I need to think out things at work. Since I work as a software developer at home I smoke to think out problems. But when I have to be in the office I do not smoke, until I get home.
I do want to quit and have quite on and off.
But the true fact for me is that even if I did stop smoking, I find that; do I really need to?. I mean I know it’s my health but how much can you do to keep yourself healthy. That’s really the problem for me. I don't really see any need to stop smoking because life is short and this is the only I bad habit I have.
I think if you take your life to seriously you sometime really do miss out on understanding yourself. Its lot like smoking is considered bad or you can die from it.
Yes you heard me right. You only die from smoking if you think you will. Scientists have already proven that if you do not know about cancer and you smoke you will not get cancer. They have seen this over and over in tribal culture that have limited vocabulary and have never heard or had cancer in their culture. These people smoke non stop and live to be a hundred. So this really puts forth a good question about what do you die from? The disease or the word and its meaning? Being able to visualize it.?
