I am not certified in Reiki, I'm a RN who does Therapeutic Touch which is close to Reiki. I've used Therapeutic Touch within my practice with patients with dementia, hospice patents and those in pain. The most common observation made after a treatment is that patients feels or looks more relaxed and needs less pain medication. I did one treatment in a farmhouse in Ireland among a group of skeptics who first trusted me to treat their Grandmother while waiting for the doctor only because what I was doing could never harm her. Then they saw the result of the gentle treatment, relaxation and reduction in pain. By the time the doctor was there for the house call our patient was in much better shape for her to assess.

Reiki and Therapeutic Touch will never harm you. Go to someone who is an RN or is certified in the art individually. Many practitioners don't charge at all, I've donated as many treatments as I have been on the clock for.

Yes I have tried and in fact I am a Reiki Master. This is energy movement (healing) usally felt as heat. Reiki can only be used for good so it should be an enjoyable experience. On my first experince I was charged for an hour visit but only got 30 minutes. I did not return to this person. I believe if you make an appointment and are meant to go things will work out. If something pervents you from making it to the appointment then you were not intended to go to this appointment. Relax and enjoy after asking as many questions as you need too.

It really depends on how into that type of healing you are. If you're accepting of the energies it can do wonders. I was so impressed with it I got Reiki certified myself. But I've seen people that walk away saying they didn't feel much. It also takes time to take effect. You may not feel it till the next morning, but you will feel some change. And also remember, things usually get worse before they get better. I went for migraines and had the worst one of my life the day after, but have never had one ever again (16 years now). It is also a very relaxing hour of peaceful meditation too.

I love Reiki. My sister and I send it to each other. I've used it on myself and others. I believe that something always happens with Reiki whether the person believes in it or feels it or not. Try it...it can do no harm, and if you're receptive it can do much good.

Reiki involves no touch to the body at all....just energy transfer from the therapist's hands to your body. Much more effective is someone who does both Reiki and massage ---- the best of both worlds.

It's got a lot to do with the practitioner. The energy itself is wonderful but some people's personalities and personas are so intrusive they ruin the experience. I know one person who talks constantly when she gives sessions which is really distracting.
If you have already met the person and liked them, go for it.
If you haven't try to meet them first and see if you are compatible.

I tried all forms of alternative medicines, including Reiki. It comes under naturopathy.
Reiki is not reliable and waste of time.
Try Meditation, it definitely works.
