I have never seen ants sleeping, or bees, or cockroach or any insects. But I guess they must sleep like animals.

Good freaking question. I know a fly may only live for 2 days. If the little dude sleeps, then it really lives for just over 1 day.

I say... Probably not. They're too hype. And we'd have seen a sleeping insect by now if they slept.

Insects (Phylum Arthropoda) are fundamentally different in biology than us so saying they sleep in the scientific sense of the word isn't accurate.

Many insects, however, experience a sleep-like state called torpor. When they do, they typically relax all bodily functions and go through what amounts to a mini-hibernation during their inactive cycle.

And not to nitpick... but just so you are aware, insects are bona fide animals.
