I'm from another generation that didn't do piercings and very few tattoos.
I'm not particularly passionate one way or the other about navel piercings. I've known several girls who I liked who had them, and did not find them either an attraction, a distraction or a turn-off. None of these were romantic associations.
My feeling is that girls can be very sexy and cute without them. Piercings are not my favorite fashion statement, but I would not reject or dislke or criticize anyone of a younger generation who chooses to get them.
If you are considering such a piercing, consider why you want it. If you can justify it on that basis, go for it. Piercings do heal if you want them to go away later on, unlike tattoos, which tend to be fairly permanent.

after going through some of these answers, i had to respond on my own.
yea it's up to personal opinion, but i think it's crap for ppl to say it's only nice if you're skinny. now i'm not the skinniest chic in town. i'm chubby and damn proud. i got my navel pierced for me. not to show off or look a certain way. i got it done because i wanted it. i love it. no matter what size you are, if you want it, do it.

Rock it while you can! When you're young and have flat abs it's sexy. Once you're a mom with stretch marks-- not so hot (but by the way the scar tissue caused by the piercing is the worst looking stretch mark of all!)

It can be very sexy...you have to find a pretty jewelry piece to wear to make it even more sexy!

I think on young women that have a nice body and it's dainty, it's cute & sexy. but if you have a bulge or roll, just say no. or if you are over 40.

depends on the size of the piercing if its small and tasteful its both sexy and cute but that's just my opinion and oiii my wife is over 40 and hers still looks great thanks

go for it but make sure they are clean about it and it doesn't matter what age or if you are large they are still fun and sexy
