hmm...in a way i think he is.he has a large female following, kids want to be like him.although i don't meet any guys who really like him.but my conceptions should not be thrusted as generalisations..... if you look at his initial movies like deewana, baazigar, darr, he gave a new defination to the concept of hero.A guy who is ready to attain his aims at any cost, but i think he crossed the limits in kuch kuch hota, acting as a college guy...Its all about how much an actor gets his role shown on the screen. It is rumored that Big B used to get the roles of his fellow actors shortened in the movies, that is why dharmendra and Big B did only 2(i think) movies together. But when amitabh was shooting for kuli, got hit by puneet issar, and thus in "shakti" dilip kumar got the oppurtunity for editing AB's role. Coming back to SRK, K3G was supposed to be a hritikh movie, but SRK is not a veteran just by age, he knows how to get himself promoted.Lets see, learning from this experience when will hritik do a movie next with SRK.Many of SRK's movies can't be even viewed in one sitting. But the guy deserves some kudos for his achievement.Of all the people who moved from small screen to big screen , he is the only person i believe , has been the most successful. Even the stars of FRIENDS and SEINFELD have tried the big screen but with lesser success. When he does some stage show, he knows how to take it by storm. Just try watching one of his shows' recordings in US or UK.I am no SRK fan, but would say he's not an overrated star for no reason.

Come on, give the guy a break, he is not an over-rated actor. for all those who insist that he is only good in lover boy roles, then you r wrong, he has done Darr, Karan Arjun, Paheli, Swades, Main hoon Na, Asoka and now Don where he played different kind of roles. He is talented and I have to admit that no one in the film industry can carry a romantic scene so convincingly like he does, no wonder he has a huge girls fan following. Although some actors may appear to be good in multi roles, you would still feel that the so and so actor would fit certain roles to the T and that is SRK. After Big B, I would say it is SRK....rocking all the way

not just shahrukh khan most of the famous actors are over rated.... its become a business now, they pay magazines and film glozzies to write rave reviews about them.... some of the real good actors are mostly underrated....
saw KANK last nite, apart from looking real old shahrukh also is actually irritating with his cliched acting styles..... its timee for him to pull up his socks or else he would end up as a spent force like aamir khan....
its time these khans let the movies talk for themselves..... and we are all so bored with life that we hype these jokers and make all actors and politicians feel there are demi gods... YAWN

See i dont think that SRK is an overrated actor. U must be knowing that how much famous he is. He has great list of fans. U must be also a big fan of him & u also must be wishing of meeting him once. People love him. They want to see him more & more. Every new heroine wants to work with her as it will raise her carrier graph. He has done so many films & hav won a lot of awards too for his work. I think that he is the most famous & good actor after Amitabh Bacchan. Im not saying that he is only the best actor but other actors are also very good. I think he deserves it..

Yes. He himself proclaims as the No.1 actor. But he does same kind of roles (loverboy, family man). There is no variety like Amir Khan.

yes now at this point he is an overrated actor cause you know he is doing that same type of film for too much a long time but if take his overall career he is brilliant he makes you feel his feeling like no other actor i dont remember a single of the modern actors who has such ability (you will definitely feel wet in your eyes once you see the last scenes of kal ho na ho ) so he definitely is a good (very good actor )and i think he will prove an action hero with "don" (already action hero in "main hoon na")

to an extend he is over rated as an actor..... BUt even if he does lover boy or family man kinda of roles.. ppl still love him
i personally love him, soo i wouldn't mind seeing him do the same roles.
he is sooo adorable and romantic and can sizzle the screen with kajol.... when audiences aren't tired of him, who r we to question his abilities ??? he may not be the most talented actor but sure as hell he has persona (personality, charisma ) to make anyone cry, laugh and touch millions of hearts.
agreed, he doesn't do variety of roles.. i cannot imagine him doing that either but his roles touch my heart
