With the appropriate drugs, yes. But this is a short term solution only. In the long run, this too fails.
With appropriate discipline, it is possible to feel all of the typical emotions and yet react or make a choice as to how these will be expressed. This does not eliminate the emotions, but it does prevent emotions and emotional attachments form getting out of hand.
There is NO definitive answer to the questions as to what emotions are or what is their source. Professionals and "wise" people from all over the world will still find much to argue about when it comes to the topic of human emotions. They seem to be associated with "chemical imbalances" in the brain, but research is still sketchy and very unreliable.

Yes,but you have to set up filters that examine what has been said or done to you before you react to it.
If someone makes fun of you, what happens?
It hurts your feeling.
But if you realize that the information coming to you lies outside of you, you can also realize that it doesn't have to be meaningful to you. You choose what you do and do not believe from the outside world to be true, but you don't realize that you have the ability to make that choice until you excercise the ability.
The way you feel is up to you.
You need to protect yourself from the negative forces in the world, put up a force field against them, only let in the positive and constructive.
The rest you just disregard. They may bug you for a minute, but you can command yourself to ignore it, and you can do this by immediately turning your focus elsewhere.
If you woke up in the morning and opened your curtains and see some ugly guy across the street in his living room walking around naked, what would you do? Close the curtains! You don't want to see that. Its the same concept.
You control the curtains of your mind, and shut out the negative with your mental curtains.
Hope that helps!

No. First of all, minds don't feel.
Maybe we can be manipulated to respond to something in a certain way (commercials, news, etc.), but I don't believe that we can manipulate ourselves into feeling only what we want because that wouldn't take the possibility of being surprised or caught off guard into account. And also, we aren't so jaded that we can't surprise ourselves by our reactions to any given situation.

A very good question.
It is hard to have a balanced approach in life, but with patience and alot of thought you can at least accept and understand why you get negative emotions.
Negative emotions are the brains way of telling us there is something wrong. They KEY thing, is how we approach them. You should not give up to it, but learn what changes need to be made to bring back the positive emotions.
It is not healthy to avoid negaive emotions, this will only save them up for a later date. You have to take action and learn about yourself in the process.
So in answer to your question; yes - but with practice, patience and a little love.

I don't believe we can manipulate our mind to feel only certain emotions; however, it may be possible to control the importance of emotions so their effect is diminished, but never gone completely.

Sure. Every part of your body is controlled by your brain. That's why it's called nurture. You nurture yourself to ignore certain feelings. However, it is not very healthy to suppress your emotion too much. your brain might go haywire and it might get short circuited. Management of emotions is better than manipulating your mind to control certain emotions.

The Lioness,
Some people can, with a lot of practice.
However, it has been noted that suppression
of emotions or thoughts is not healthy in the
long run. Our essence is so powerful, that
we need to 'experience' and 'process' our
emotions, or they will accumulate and could
have a bad outcome.
So, keep it balanced, but follow your gut feelings.
If an emotion is meant to be felt,
let it flow in or out of you as needed.
Hope this helps.
Stay well.

Yes and we can also manipulate our minds not to feel pain. I believe the Hindu Gurus have proved this along with others that have disciplined minds.

No, I don't believe that can be possible. God the creator alone can manipulate our minds. He has the capacity and the right to do away with the lives of those who doubt Him.Many philosophers do believe that there is God but I am very sorry for them.

The SOUL of the Human Being is in Contact with Many different Source's of Input.
For one, we are Tied-In to the Star System.
Two, we are Tied-In to the EARTH.
There are Other's too.
Basically we can Change some of them.
Basically we can Block some of them.
For some, "this too shall Pass".
This is a Very Deep Subject.
Human Being's are Deep.
Hope this helps.

You ABSOUTELY can manipulate your mind. Matter of fact, once you truly learn to manipulate your mind instead of the other way around that is true freedom.
Great question.
