When he said "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." George seems to think so, do you?

If you agree with what FDR said, and you support Bush, explain how you can support a President who has nothing to offer you but fear.

My goodness Bethie, where did you come up with that reasoning? I think your answer, filled with justifications that make no sense, sums up the answer. I was just wondering how people can get behind a leader who is a fear monger, because I think a leader should instill confidence to be successful.

Your answer (which just boggles my mind further) at least explained to me how some people think.

I believe that FDR was right because at the time we were engaged in a fight against a real evil that was threatening the globe. I did not vote for GWB in either election and do not believe in his policies. I am of the opinion that this is all a very carefully orchestrated plan for he and his "good ol' boys" (Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Daddy) to increase their wealth at the expense of peoples lives. I feel that all GWB has done is to worsen an already bad situation in the Middle East. It is obvious to me that he did not pay attention to history as he has elected to repeat the mistakes that were made during Viet Nam.

Yes, I agree. But, our Pres does not offer fear. He has been offering hope. People who want to bring our troops home are living in fear. Fear of the unknown. Do we really want the prediction of "the new Vietnam" to come true? No. Then, we need to see this thing through to the end.
Really, you want to talk about fear of a leader. Ask the thousands of people that were tortured by Saddam what fear from a leader is. Ask the thousands of starving North Koreans what fear from a leader is. Ask all the men who served our country well during Vietnam what seeing a traitor like Kerry running for Pres did for their "scare factor"?

Isn't that Kennedy? And yes they do a great job using fear. Scarier than that Moussalini defined fascism as the merger of state and corporate power which is exactly what we have in America today.

I agree with FDR. Facing fear, facing the unknown holds so many people back (myself included).

I do not support Bush. He scares the crap out of me.
