Happy right now to be alive, breathing, seeing,
hearing and not in some war torn country.
Life is short, every second is a gift.

I can't remember clearly. I've reached a point where I'm sorry for the things that I wanted or laugh at myself for ever thinking such a thing would make me happy.

I remember making passionate love all night. But that has made it tougher for me to cross the dessert of adult working life, because I know there's a paradise that I'll never share or obtain.

So in the very long run I've opted for wisdom and serenity and whatever laughter is available RATHER than happiness and in spite of the melancholy consequenses. I think I'm right.

The people I knew who chased after happiness when they were young crashed. They're dead, failures or zombies now.

So I've grown wary of happiness. Personally, the long and winding road toward wisdom has served me better.

The last time I was happy in my life was RIGHT NOW. I have 2 beautiful children and I cannot spend enough time with them. They are really good kids. Nothing is better then when they come up to me out of the mid blue, hug me and then say "Mom I love you"!!! They do that pretty often and that feels really great!!

Fortunately, I am happier now than I have ever been. My happiness comes from knowing Jesus and trusting God in all things. I'm 55 years old, and much of my life was in turmoil. Since I started studying the bible (about ten years ago) and started making wiser choices, God has truly blessed me with a beautiful, tranquil, joyful life.

The late 70s. I was making 900 a month at my job and I had enough money for everything including partying on the weekends and always had money in my pocket. Now I am disabled and must live on 770 per month.

Right now. I learned to meditate, how to relax and how to just enjoy little things a lot more. It's funny how much control you have over your own life. Once you realize it, everything changes for the better.
