A girlfriend is a female that you love and have feelings for romantically.
A friend who is a girl is a person that you care about who happens to be female, but you have no romantic feelings for, and you think of as just one of the guys.

If you look at the person romantically, then that's a girlfriend. Someone who you just hang out with with no romantic ties is a friend that happens to be a female.

Well you have the obvious that is a girl friend is someone whom you would share intament moments with and a friend you would not although you love them both there is a different kind of love for a girl friend rather than your friend that is a girl. Its like magic with the girl friend and with your friend its a different type of feeling complety. If you cant tell the difference than maybe your in love with both of them
