could i be psychic?

Question

I have always had premonitions, especially in my dreams. I have dreamed about major events such as pregnancies, deaths, marriages, etc., months before they occurred. I even have deja vu on a regular basis. But lately some weirder stuff has been happening...for instance, when I am in my bedroom, the lamp on the other side of the room will turn on for no reason. I have heard that those with psychic energy can sometimes make stuff like that happen if they have a lot of energy or are upset that day. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this stuff, because it is kind of freaking me out. Please only answer if you are going to give a serious shot at it.

We're all endowed with some intuitive/psychic ability. Some of us are more in touch with it than others. It could be that you are a medium in the making.

If stuff is freaking you out.... Try saying a little prayer, asking that you not experience stuff that is too much for you to handle.

I can't say with certainty what's up with the lamp. But I get the feeling like it's something more along the lines of an electrical issue. On the metaphysical side, perhaps an electrical issue being influenced by energies around you. Does the lamp only do that when you are in the room?

If you're wanting a good place to start reading about this stuff.... A good book is "Don't Kiss Them Goodbye" by Allison Dubois (the woman the TV Show, "Medium" is based on). It's interesting look at some of the things you may be experiencing without the deep metaphysical philosophy stuff you get from some of the other medium/authors.

ok here is my serious shot..... i truly believe we all have psychic gifts. Some people are more open to the idea and because they can accept the possibility they see glimpses of psychic abilities. People who don't believe of course don't believe - therefore see no evidence of psychic abilities or if some evidence were to shatter their cloud of disbelief, they write it off as a coincidence.
People who see some evidence because they are open to it can choose to develop their abilities. The more anxious and motivated they are to develop, the more they will succeed. If I might make an analogy to sports, I would suggest first we must be exposed to the sport then the desire to try must exist. Once we try some of us will find ourselves gifted athletes, others will be decent and others yet may always remain just participants. You may be gifted with psychic abilities or you may be able to just develop a bit but I believe we all have some potential...
Make sense what I am trying to say? You need not accept my opinion either as I do not proclaim to be an authority on anything and I will be first to admit it is only an opinion.
Should you wish to develop your abilities, try searching for websites. I won't recommend any at this time though but I will assure you that there are some really good ones out there.

I know the things you talk about, they happen to me all the time, well except the lamp thing,, for me it's sometimes lights turn off for me. It used to freak me out but then i grew to accept it, the light thing almost never happens any more. But the premonitions still happen alot, and yes sometimes they come in dreams but more often they just come to me. Is it a psychic thing,, I don't know,, doesn't matter to me it's just there. I hope you don't think you're abnormal or weird, it's ok to be who you are and what gift you have. Just one word of warning,,, take this serious,,, do not ever try to reap benefits from this. You, definitely could be psychic. Stuff like that happens to me on a regular basis. I'm supposedly clairavoient... clairaudient... and stuff. You're right about how, the psychic energy can make physical things happen, especially when the person is upset or stressed. So be careful. I'd try to explore this a little deeper. Good Luck.

Ok, this stuff can be dangerous so your serious approach is, I think, the right one. I think the best thing you can do is find someone who is a respected phsychic. If possible this person should be known to you and referred by people you trust. If not you will have to trust your 'instincts' - if it feels the slightest bit 'off' then dont do it (whatever it is). If you have the teeniest doubt then dont do it (whatever it is). Assuming the person you are referred to is ok for you, ask them to teach you how to protect yourself and what to do with what you ,see, hear, etc. Then take it from there. Slowly. I believe I am very sensitive to this stuff, but honestly could not call myself phsychic. I have had some bad experiences due to inexperience, poor guidance and the wrong advice. I know that a lot of being a phsychic is your own ability to Trust yourself, but... well... I just keep well away from it now. Put my comments to you in this context and I hope they help. I believe it's possible to cause energy surges based on mood. I believe you might be a psychic. It's very important that you seek guidance so you don't mismanage your talents. By "seeking", I mean that just make up your mind that you need a teacher. Remember that "when the pupil is ready, the teacher appears". You're freaking out because you don't understand what to do with it.
I read once in some book about eastern philosophies that in the event that you see unexplained phenomena, don't get too impressed, don't mind it too much; meaning that there's more important things to think about.
