I was cramping during my second trimester but later into it, around 20 weeks and onward. I was eventually put on bed rest but that was mostly because my job was highly stressful and I mostly cramped after working.
The pinkish colour of you discharge may be OK, it may be spotting or if you were examined it could be from that. If the discharge changes to a darker red, have your self checked out again.
If you feel pressure or if it hurts to urinate it may be a bladder infection (also causes cramping, pressure and discharge)
If it eases your mind or if something doesn't feel right, go back to the hospital and get your self checked out, other wise bump up your appointment with your doctor.

Please I do not want to scare you, but if you are having bright red discharge or if you are bleeding a lot, the doctor needs to do a more thorough exam. Did you have a sonogram? You need to have one right away. Get into your doctor ASAP!
Sunday I had some discharge and thought Oh, its just spotting, that is normal. On Monday morning I went to the ER. I was spotting pink still, and had some minor cramps. The doctor did a very thorough exam (including an internal) and said that their had been some bleeding but that it had stopped and that the opening to the womb was ok. They were going to do a sonogram (mostly to alleviate my worries), but by the time I got there the department was closed, so I was told to go see my doctor. So then I went home. There was a tiny bit of spotting, but I had an appointment for Wednesday so I figured it could wait. On Tuesday morning at 5:05 I woke up and had horrible cramps. My pajamas were damp. I went to the bathroom and had a miscarriage (actually I had what is known as an incomlete abortion -- some materials came out but not all). I was at the beginning of week 11. I went back to the ER on Tuesday morning and they did a sonogram and internal exam and then a procedure called a D and C where they cleaned out any material left inside me. The worst part was after they did the sonogram, she sent me to the bathroom to empty my bladder because she needed to do an internal vaginal camera picture, and when I went in there more stuff came out, and I am sure it is the baby, and I sat down on the floor and cried and called the lady in, and she looked, but flushed the toilet (any material in the toilet cannot be tested), but I am sure what was in the toilet was my baby, and I can't help but think non-stop for the last two days that I flushed my baby down the toilet like it was nothing. It may not have been the baby, and when you have a D&C you never do get to see the fetus and the fetus is still quite small (and the doctor said i probably would not see it) but I am still sure what I saw in the toilet was the baby.
Anyway, I lost my baby, and in the first trimester there really is nothing they can do about it, and right now I am just full of all these crazy emotions and today I just sat down and cried for about two hours. I do not want to scare you, but you do have to go to the doctor. If your discharge is more than what it was when you were in the ER earlier, GO BACK!!!!
Call your OBGYN on his/her 24 hour office line and tell them. Get in first thing tomorrow morning. DO NOT DELAY.
I'm not trying to scare you -- spotting is normal in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, and even at week 13. Also cramps can be normal as well because they could just be a sign of your cervix expanding to create room for your baby. Everything can still be okay, so if in the end it is for your peace of mind it is totally worth it. If you can hear your baby's heartbeat there is a much lower chance you are having a miscarriage.
The website below is very informative.

This may sound outrageous. I have a twenty month old daughter. When I was too early to know I was pregnant, I started bleeding very bad. I went to the ER and was told basically "let nature take its course." Nature took its course and I bleed off and on for two weeks sometimes light and sometime heavy. I then went on for the next four months to have a normal cycle. Missed my cycle for 2 months and found out I was seven months pregnant. Go figure. Pray, You'll be fine. Good LUck!!

Cramping can be a sign something is wrong but if you are not having severe cramping and are not bleeding bright red then most likely you are fine.Cramping can be caused because your uterus is stretching to make more room for your growing baby. The brownish discharge can be old blood that is just finding it's way out of you or your cervix could be slightly irritated which is very very common.I know it can be very alarming to cramp or see some type of blood but sounds like just normal pregnancy stuff.Plus your dr said everything is fine and they know more about pregnancy and what is normal.whats not normal more than what anyone else knows.Best of luck to you.

If Dr says you're okay and heard a fetal heart beat, odds are you are okay. But call your family doctor (obstetrician?) first thing tomorrow to get their opinion... they know your history & you better.
