I used to live in Puerto Rico for 27 years. I got married when I was 25 and separated 1yr. 1/2 later. We never filed for a divorce because I moved to Louisiana. I have been living here for one year. We have been separated for 2 years. Now, how do I file for a divorce in Puerto Rico? We do not have any together (house, car, bills) nothing!

Most states have residency requirements for initiating a divorce. If you are living in Louisiana, you should file in Lousiana. If your spouse is living in Puerto Rico now, there is a possibility of filing there. But you need to consult and attorney and find out what the legal requirements are. Usually, you file in the state where you live or in the state where the marriage was.

particular, via fact Puerto Rico is a component of the US. for greater clever evaluations touching directly to this, you may seek for suggestion from a mediator. The mediation centers they supply would be plenty help. Its a greater low priced and swifter selection in assessment to getting an high priced criminal expert and going to court docket each and every now and then. you will finally end up with the divorce you have needed yet you spend much less money and speedier consequences.
