actually, it is more common that RW disks will not be read by the CD player of older cars.

Whenver you burn a CD-R make sure you finalize the disc so you will not have problems with CD Players not being able to read the disk.

Yes, definitely. In fact, the chances of your car being able to read any given CD-R are greater than those for any given CD-RW.

But you can't re-write or erase a CD-R.

yes, actually, in my car only cd-r's are readable..cd-rw dont work
