You may have a pinched nerve or a slipped disc, or your sacroiliac could be out of place. If I were you I'd go to a chiropractor. They usually take an x-ray to see exactly where the problem is coming from. It may hurt for a while once you have been readjusted, because the longer your back stays out of alignment, your muscles grow accustomed to the misalignment, and they remain painful until they get used to being in proper alignment once again.
If you go to a medical doctor they will give you muscle relaxers to ease the pain, but this will not get to the root of the problem.
I can't think of anything more painful than a backache. I hope you find relief soon.

Sounds like sciatica --- being active (not sitting), and walking will help. Could also be a pinched nerve. A form of self traction with inversion boots, or bending over something where your feet can dangle and not touch the ground pulls the spine away from the nerves relieving the pain.

Sciatic nerve damage will cause what you are describing. You have injured this nerve somehow...a fall maybe? Sometimes it takes a long time for this to resolve itself. Take anti-inflammatories like ibuprophen or aspirin with food to reduce the pain and swelling of the nerve area...and rest to let it heal. See a doctor.

You should see a back doctor or a neurosurgeon. My mother experienced the very same thing and had a shattered disc. She's already had 1 back surgery. She still has a lot of trouble with it and may eventually have to have another surgery.

I've had sciatica (the pain you're describing sounds similar). What helped me was:

- acupuncture helped some
- chiropractic helped but sometimes didn't last
- Hellerwork helped me the most

I now use Hellerwork and chiro to maintain pain-free.

It sounds like you may have a pinched nerve. I have had the same thing happen to me and that was the case. Have a Dr. check it out.

Are you pregnant? Either way, that's called sciatica and it's a pinched nerve. Get up and do some stretches, usually pregnant people get this.

Try taking a hot bath using epsom salt. It comes in big cardboard cartons (like milk) or in plastic jugs. Very cheap. You can get it at any drugstore.
