Good point...never thought of that. But I suppose the reason is that back in the 60s when that cartoon was created, it wasn't a consideration to make sure that every race had a part in the show. Political correctness hadn't come along yet. Also, the demographics of the country was such that white americans still was a much higher majority of the country, so the target audience would have been white middle-class people who had tvs. (this is just my speculation) Finally, I would imagine just as you have cartoons today with different characters, the developers might have just not thought about creating characters of other races.

Well it was the because it was the begining of the mixing of population of the black and the white people. Around thse times they also had alot of riots. The owners of the cartoon were italian and therefore they only put their own race in because of the type of times they lived in. Also alot of the flinstones skits came from the honey mooners and they were even older when black people were not aloud in the same town or bus as whites. So it was just the time period that they were in that effected the races in the cartoon.

Because the Flintstones cartoon was based on The Honeymooners, which had white main characters.

Because The Flintstones were created in the 1960s. TV shows didn't do much mixing of the races then, animated or live action.

Because the blacks were still confined to the African continent and did not know how to use the "FLINT STONE".
