That's your opinion, just as it's the opinion of many that your orientation is sinful. Both are a matter of belief, so accept it. Most of those who say it's a sin cite the Bible, where it says pretty specifically that for a man to lay with another man is a sin. (I forget which book it's in; one of the first two or three.)
But come to think of it, I don't understand why gays think they're so persecuted. Like minorities and women, they are more free in this country than they would be in many other countries; certainly any Muslim countries (how you think a gay pride parade would go over in Tehran?).
Yeah, you have the occasional rednecks who beat up someone (any race, gender, orientation) who's different from them, but it's not like you're being arrested and executed for being gay.
Just live your lives, let us live ours, and stop getting in straights' faces screeching about how we need to "accept" and "tolerate" you, and we probably will.

Well you have to remember that for some people, they have really been taught a lot of things by their religious leaders and their families. It is hard to just walk away from those things. It is important that we let those people get to know us, so that they will learn that we are more like them than we are different. Then they will question some of those teachings that we feel don't even make sense, and perhaps come around.
When they start with that old, "Hate the sin, love the sinner," I try to find a way of saying, "How do you love me, if you judge me to be a sinner? God told us not to judge." I don't always get really far with that.

Of course it's not a sin.... GOD doesn't make mistakes...SO how can it be a sin....and anyone who watches discovery health channel would know that they have now proof it is in the "GENE" pool. If they would take the time to learn about people who are "different" than they are and stop judging others, they might learn a few things. This is not a choice people. No one choses this. And by the way I am a hetrosexual. With a openness to learn why others are different than myself.

People can't accept it because they can't stand to think that some people are born gay. They think it's a choice, and the thought of homosexual love disgusts them. Those kind of people should look in their own backyards before they start casting stones. You are RIGHT!!! ........... gays/les/bis/trans are human beings...and they should have all the same rights that "straight" people have.

Well s**t fire and save the matches! I'm a lesbian, a Christian, and yes, I do believe being gay is a sin. AS I SEE IT (my own belief that I do not force upon any one) being gay is a sin against nature. God made man and woman to procreate and a man being with another man or a woman being with another woman can not BY NATURE procreate. That being said, I also believe it is a sin to lie, deceive, and falsely represent who I truly am and/or hurt another by doing so. I also believe in repentance and the forgiveness of sins. My God is a loving and forgiving God who does not punish and loves all His children.

Because those who do, do not belive that a belief in Jesus Christ is the only way to get into heaven. John 3:16 is heavily quoted becuase it is the message Christians are supposed to have learned, however many churches have turned agianst the very bible they teach from. John 3:18 Elaborates even more "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
It stems from the natural sense of a need for moral superiorty. This need is not something new or unprecedented in fact this is why Christ said in Matthew 23:2-3 to do as they say, but not as they do.
They point to Homosexulaity being a sin in Levitical Law and an abomination(Leviticus 18:22), but they negelect to mention that it is a sin to eat pork. It is also a sin and an abomination to eat shelfish Lev. 11:10.It is a sin to steal (Exodus 20:15) . Exodus 35:2 clearly states that you can't work on the Sabbath. Even under the law, for most of us the sin of homosexuality (or at least the act of) seems to be only a tiny sample of anyone's problems.
Becuase of Jesus Christ, however, the only sin that man is accountable for is the non-belif in Jesus Christ. If you do not believe that the sacarafices that Christ made on the cross can forgive any sin no matter how great, than maybe you should ask yourself if you truly believe in Christ.
How can people quote the text of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and forget to mention THE VERY NEXT LINE, which vastly changes the context of verses 9-10
1 Corinthians 6:11 "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
The Devil knows about the message of grace taught by Jesus Christ and has developed the greatest counter-attack. He makes Christains fall by trusting thier own logic instead of God's Logic. The Devil wants to see you try to make yourself clean by the Law of the Old Testament becuase he knows that's impossible. THe Devil knows "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." so naturally he claims that homosexuals are a group that is evil by the law, when in fact no group of people can be justified under the law.

Probably because they're gay and haven't accepted it yet. LOL. No, I think it's cuz some people can't stand people who are different from them. I just answered the idiot's question about how it is a sin, and I'm glad you posted this one. Being gay is NOT a sin.

I have no problem with the premise...Where in the world did you get the idea it is a sin....oh, from those pitiful bible spouters who are so damned envious of our life and lifestyle....yes, I see now. Most people do NOT think being gay is a sin, just some vociferous losers here at Yahoo. But they do make some noise, don't' they?

don't get me wrong people are judgmental and shouldn't be because we are judged by a higher power "god".
but also keep in mind any sex before marriage is a sin like it or not.
also take a step back i am sure everyone has judged someone or a group of people a least once in their life.. you too
