What is so great about it? Is it a way to downlaod music for free?

Yes, but it's full of spyware. As a PC tech I don't recommend it unless you want to infect the hell out of your system.

Be careful about limewire. I heard in the news last week that Limewire is being sued for allowing illegal downloads. The music industry is really starting to crack down on sites like that. Remember what happened to Napster. Now you have to pay to get music from them. The same thing will happen to Limewire. It's best to pay a buck and get your music from ITunes. The quality is much better too.

Its good I've used it for the past year. To me it's the only one I use to download music for free. I dont even have any viruses on my computer like I did when I thought I'd check out Bearshare then I got hit with viruses and didn't even download anything from it. I stick with Limewire no viruses nothing.

I'm still new to this whole "downloading songs world" & based on what most of you say here on Y! Answers I won't be trying this limewire thing. I'll just stick to my iTunes Store for music (& some cd's too). There's too much stuff to do, look at & explore on the internet w/o screwing up my computer now that I finally have one. lol.

It is a way to download for free, but I don't trust the system, you are downloading from other users files and they from yours, plus it really slows down your computer. I used limewire for a while and it seemed to suck the life out of my computer. Some people like it but I was not that impressed.

Limewire is a good site to download music, but Shareaza is safer as far as viruses are concerned from what I hear.

You can download music, movies, files, whatever for free.
Downloading the stuff for free w/o a license is illegal though, that means all the music and movies.
I don't care about files though...

Yeah u can download music movies and games all for free! But it is illegal and it comes with alot of viruses if you want your computer infected!

Its a filesharing network that you can upload and download Audio,video,mp3,or other things for free without breaking any laws.....Bearshare is better because it doesnt lag your computer
