Yes. Like the (Helen Reddy?) song goes: "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till its gone?"
I divorced after a 20 year marriage. I look back and see the major issues that started out as little issues. I wish I could turn back time and change them when they were little issues, but we cannot do that. We look back and see how things were, and of course our memories are very selective. We chose to remember the good and forget the bad.

This maybe true but one other thing is also true...... they are your "ex" for a reason. Chances are that if you had it to do over again that the same thing would happen. Most people miss the dependability, safeness etc..... of a relationship so when it ends they miss it and some times even make themselves think it was all their fault when in fact it takes 2 to tango! Every thing happens for a reason.

Absolutely ! Life is so fast paced now a days that we all get caught up in the every day fight of survival and we take our partners for granted way too much. Even the simplest of things seems so very important when you no longer have that special one to share it with. Just like the old saying goes, we need to take time to stop and smell the roses.

Never been married but it happens to me all the time in my past relationships, be it a serious bf, a fling or a suitor. Its human nature not to know what you've got til its gone.

Sometimes-I think it depends on the relationship.
I do know one thing: You absolutely get to realize who the "true love" of your life was !
