Technically a "hickey" is a twist injury to the surface of the skin.

SoSalBeachGal was right - its a bruise. Ice really only works on bruises as they develop to lessen the effect but has little effect on exists ones.

Like all bruises it will disappear in time and my advice is don't get another.

Rub the back of a spoon against it real hard and it will start to fade. Otherwise, its a bruise, so you treat it like any other. You can hide it with make-up or clothes.
