Cuttlekid has it right. Length times width divide by 81. It will give you the cubic yards you need.

The formula for figuring concrete is:
For 4" thick:
8 x 8 x .33 (4") divided by 27 = .78 of a yard.
For 5" thick:
8 x 8 x .42 (5") divided by 27 = .99 of a yard.

Concrete companies will usually charge a "short load" fee for anything under 3 yards.
Always order a little bit more concrete than you need. I would suggest ordering 1 1/2 yards.
Good luck!

Cement is sold in Cubic Yards. Won't bother with the math but you need exactly (0.7900) of a yard. That will give you a slab of 8' feet by 8'feet by 4 inches thick. get the whole cubic yard and you'll get close to making it 6" deep. The going rate for a cubic yard of poured concrete is anywhere between $70.00 to $90.00 dollars, depending on where you live.

You will need to work how many cubic feet your gunna need ,
its easier in metric so I'll do that first.. 8' =2.4 meters,, and the depth should be at least 4" or 100mm be sure to use steel reinforcing mesh,, so we multipy LxBxD 2.4 x2.4 x.1 =.0.58 of a cubic meter,, so your gunna need about 3/4 cubic yard.
