First, figure out (if you can) what triggers them. Smoke, chocolate, hard cheeses, caffeine - all major triggers. Godiva chocolate, sadly, will trigger one in me.
A quiet, dark room helps, especially if you're sensitive to light during the migraine. I've also found that if the pain is really focused on one side of the head, it helps to lay on that side, with that side of the head against the pillow, and put an ice pack between your head and pillow. The cold makes the blood vessels contract and will help stop the pain.
If you get them often you might want to see a doctor. There are good meds out there, but they are pricey.

Try keeping a diary of everything you eat and do - you will likely find a pattern or find that certain foods or activities will trigger your migraine, like reading too much or drinking coffee. I try to just lay very still in a dark room, and try to take a nap if possible.

Feverfew is recommended by herbalists. Calcium-magnesium-zinc pills taken with meals may help. I know several persons who have gotten relief from MonaVie juice.

Two of my sisters get migraines, and one says caffeine helps. The other can't get rid of it with less than tylenol 3
