As others pointed out, no answer is possible without saying
"from where."
If you're flying from Stansted, London, you can get 1p fare
(+tax, fuel surcharge, etc) with Ryanair.

It depends where you are flying from and if your dates are exact. I fly ack and forth often changing airports and airlines nearly every time.
I would reccommend Joining YAhoo travel and they will mail you updates regularly about the flights you are seeking.
Also what I usually do is use Travelocity, Kayak, orbits, cheap tickets, to see what they are offering and with what airline and then go to the airline site and buy direct from them it usually saves a little more.
If you do not live near a big Airport, try looking for cheap flights from your city to major airports and then searching from there to Ireland.
I reccommend you searching long and hard before you chose a flight and I would advise against paying more than $600 return including tax for March. I have done it for $227 in Feb and $303 in April.
Good luck and enjoy Ireland.

Starting from where? LA/Dublin $450/$1k---NYC$500/700, Chicago$650/1100. Aer Lingus out of Canada also has decent rates and can be very good out of NYC. Boston and Atlanta also decent. March should be attractive time for fares IF IF fuel prices remain at a sane level. Enjoy and have one for me--okay two if the first was as good as expected.

I bought tickets to Shannon for the end of this month, back in Feb. I got them from the airline because all the discount travel sites had the EXACT same price...plus their fee, so I went straight to the source. Book early, you get better deals and better seats. I paid $750 USD for round trip from West Palm Beach, Fl to Shannon and back.

That's hard to say with fuel prices being so nuts. You can look now - go to one of the travel sites and just keep searching. You really can be your own travel agent in this day and age. If you wait until February you risk not being able to get a good flight.
Try all your options, you'd be amazed how one lay-over can differ from another in price.
Do your homework.

try orbitz.com. I got a really good deal on tickets from New York to Jamaica, then California and then back to New York. You may also try checking the websites of airlines that are based in Ireland, they may have specials.
