When you are married, you have a public committment to each other. On the whole, society respects that committment. When things get a little rough - and they do - you stay with the person you are married to and try to work it out because you have made a promise. Your family is recognised by the law. And you can stop wondering why the other person doesn't care enough about you to get married! Sex is only a small part of it - you feel secure - safe - with the person you marry because you have told the whole world that you will support each other through whatever life brings.

There are no negatives about being married, unless you haven't grown up and and decided what you want in life. The positive side is, if you get pregnant people will not think you are a $lut. You can live together without it being called a shack up. Married men make more money than single men. Married men are healthier. Usually there is a good income tax break. for married people. In the work place married people are considered more stable and reliable. You will have a best friend for life. You have a legal leg to stand on in the case you need it.

Well from a religious prespective
it is God's will for all of us to get married...
Marriage is ordained by God.
God wants us to multiply to expand His family..
There is no such thing as a prefect marriage....but theres always a good one...
I too for a fact kept hearing all kinds of negative stories about marriage...
but remember that at a certain point of time in life...marriage is important..
there is certainly someone out there for everyone
its just that that person hasnt come along yet..
but then again this is my opinion...

Thus far, I enjoy married life. We communicate and enjoy each other. We spend time together and try to have an interesting marriage by doing different things together. We both have goals and talk about them often. We respect each other and allow each other to have space. Now there are times we may disagree but we get it right before we go to bed and before we leave each other in the morning. I heard negative things before I got married also but it takes three people (God, husband and wife) to make the marriage work.

There are many positive things about being married, as long as you take your time and select the proper mate. You have a companion, a helper, a friend, a confidant. You have a safe sex partner, some one you can share the good times and the bad times with.

Being with someone you love is great, but you don't need marriage for that. I guess the best thing about marriage is that you have a committment between two people to try to create something together that is better than they can accomplish on their own. And yes, there is a different feeling between living together and being married.

If you find your soul-mate, it's great. If you're too young, have kids too young, are not financially prepared for a family, etc, it's not good. If drugs get involved, forget it!...........If, you really have a bond that can get you both through that......go for it. There are ups & downs in life. I've known people who were married for 50 years. It happens, but it's rare. Be careful, but if this person feels right, & no "Red flags"... go for it. If you find someone who will stand by you through everything life throws at you.......go for it!

You never have to worry about getting a date, it's nice to have someone special just for you. Been married 40 years and no regrets. Sure you have your rough times but together you get through them.

i think that the best thing, is being able to come home to someone that still gets stars in his eyes when he sees me. knowing that someone can love you so much that they want to spend the rest of their life with you is the icing on the cake.

Don't get me wrong, marriage is hard work. there are times when things get a little hairy, but you work through them, and in the end you are a stronger couple.

there is one rule that my hubby and i have and that is marriage is NOT 50/50 it is 100/100 you both have to give 100% in order to make it work!!!!!!!!!
