working as a social worker's assitant or working at a group home? The assistant thing is kind of doing social work that the actual social worker doesn't have time to do.

Well it all depends on what you want out of the job. If you are looking for some real rewarding work, look into the group home. Getting involved into the daily lives of these young people is extremely rewarding and also very self-discovering. Good Luck!!

It depends on what you want to do with yoru career. Seems like if you want to be a social worker, you would learn the most working with one as an assistant. If you lean toward a career in a group home, it might be the best. Sounds like you are well on your way to a good career in social work. Congrats!

Working at a group home will probably give you more hands-on experience that will help better to launch your career. Working for the social worker might be a great opportunity to get outstanding mentoring, but if he or she is a jerk, you're screwed.
