because most places I applied to were not calling me, then all of a sudden other places started to call. How weird is that?, has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, I accepted my current job, and then I had several more companies follow up in the following weeks with requests for interviews. As the positions were comparable, I was satisfied with my choice.

That is the way it usually goes. That is why I advise not to take the first joy you are offered, but take the one you want. If you are happy with the job you have, stay there, but if not....explore the others.
