I'm str8 male, best friend is lesbian. Why do I sometimes get the feeling her female friends don't like the idea of us being so close? I know some of my buddies are jealous of my relationship with her.

Buddies are jealous because they want her, can't have her, she hangs with me and I don't approach her like that.

It's alright, Dear One. It's not you, it's both her and your freinds. Some lesbians just don't like men. I think they're wonderful (provided they keep the trouser snake in it's proper place) but I think it's marvelous you two do have such a strong freindship. That's what's important. If there's a problem I'm certain you two can work it out amongst the throng. I'd like to know why your male buddies are jealous of her being with you....that sounds silly. Blessings on you.

Her friends are jealous of the time you arespending with are and are afraid that you will take her away from them. They think lesbians should stick together and have no need for men

i think anyone is intimidated by their friends being really good friends with someone else. your friends might view her as something more mysterious or hate her for who she is. her friends might feel uncomfortable with you. there could be a thousand and one reasons, especially since i don't know how the two of you act when you're together, or who your friends are.

her female friends are being protective more then likely- they see you as competition even though your not, but in a way you still are. Im sure your lesbain friend has at least thought about being bi at one time. Wouldnt you agree? Dont you think if you put moves on her she might ....like it?
