I believe the Chinese were here many years ago to be the labor force behind the American railroad system. They were also involved in the '49 Gold Rush in California.

They invented gunpowder and my golly, the US sure does love its guns.
They developed the first system of meritocracy (people are successful according to how well they perform, no just according to their birth status) which underpins American society (mostly).
They devised the decimal system.
They invented the abacus, the clock, the compass, the blast furnace, paper, matches, rockets, the wheelbarrow and relief maps.
