He says he did it. He apologized for it. He said he "loves" JonBenet and her death was an accident. He claims to have authored correspondence with the Ramsey family and a documentary director that detailed the event more than he could have known if he wasn't her killer. Still, there is a nagging feeling in me that he is lying. He is too pretty boy/intelligent. I'm not saying he is innocent of any crime. I believe that he is a known pedophile with a history of posession of child porn, according to all reports. However, if he were in Thailand and got caught abusing a child there, he would face a lot worse of a sentence and inhumane treatment than he could get here. He is returning to the US with his face on every tv screen and even with his confession he may well get off the hook for lack of evidence when he recants his story and says he didn't do it. Is the US willing to extradite him back to Thailand in order to stand charges for something he did there if he didn't kill JonBenet?

I really don't think he did,I mean he really acted well hard to explain but odd and different.I mean he was "No Comment" for almost everything practically. The question is why is he lying? What father of three with a job would want to go to jail for life and possbily face the death penalty? Odbiously a very sick minded one of course! I don't really understand any of it. I mean it had said that his wife had said that for sometime he had been researching the JonBenet case and he e-mail that professor or whatever with questions about the case.Anybody could lie like that it's very simple. One of the tings that the investigators had questioned was a pinapple she had eaten and Mark could have drugged her with that.I find his story very mixed-up and not legiable,I think this is deffintley a hard case to crack.I think asap they need to test him.And if he's lieing why is he? Could he possibly be covering for somebody else who really did do it?
So I think its hard to say but I kinda have to say I think its someone else.I was also thinking about it and there is a possible chance he could be covering for someone else possibly.Only the testings and DNA samples will crack this case. And for a decade I think its time for this case to be over with.

It's not looking good.Yeah,I know what he says and that he's apologizing for it and that he loved her and blah, blah, blah, and all.
But to my knowledge he was locked up in Thailand not for any crimes committed there but on our (USA) request.
I think I even read he was just about to start a new teaching job there in Thailand
It was our government requested his arrest based on information received from University of Colorado professor Michael Tracy who has been swapping emails with John Karr for the last four years.
It's starting to appear, with his being full of mis-information,and all, and with the testimony of his ex- wife, Karr may be more a head case and may not, in fact, be as guilty as first indicated.
No matter what, guilty or not, they should convict him.
If for no other reason than getting every-body's hopes up that the 10 year old mystery is nearing an end.
I guess we'll just have to hang in and see what happens.

I don't think he did... He said it was an "accident"..weird..how can a murder and rape be an accident? If he ran over JonBenet..maybe I would've believed him...
That case has been going on for so long... I didn't know it was still a big fuss(I live in another country but I'm aware of the stuff in the US..)
I really think that JonBenet's parents are the main culprits....maybe he helped somehow..
I just wish all of this would be over... It's disgusting to rape and kill a little girl...

to many holes in his confession and even the media thinks it also. he claims to have drugged her, but the autopsy report shows nothing of that. he was wanted on other warrants in the u.s. even though thailand doesn't have the death penalty, he was caught molesting there. some think that he confessed to get out of going to a thailand prison, they don't want him in their country now. hes on his way back now. he was never charged with the crimes in her death yet. he is being brought back as a flight risk on other warrant charges not related to the case. many thought he knew more than most, but it was discovered that he was so obsessed with her and the case, he was writting a book about it, there for knew things others wouldn't have known. the dna test they are waiting on is the smoking gun they need.

This morning on the radio they were discussing it and three different people called in that have interrogation experience. They pointed out that he said Loves, not loved... they mentioned a few other things too about his demeaner and these are people who have interrogated a lot of guilty and innocent people over the last 20 years....after that many interrogations you get to recognize the tell tale things about lying......they said he was lying and that the mother had lied.....the dna will tell! Should be interesting huh.

I don't know what to belive about this anymore. One report I heard said that he related details about the crime that only one who was involved in it somehow would know. Another report I heard about claims investigators found a ton of stories about the murder on his computer. Was he researching the crime to get out of Thailand and to the U.S. for humane treatment?

And yet ANOTHER story I heard was that the murder took place in winter and police found no tracks outside the house. Did he commit the murder in the house? If so, how did he get away without leaving footsteps?

I dont believe that Karr killed JonBenet. We can't assume anything, just because he confess. Many authorities are saying it seems "fake" and "forced." In addition, his confession just doesn't add up. Remember when everyone thought it was JonBenet's parents who killed her. We all just have to wait and let justice sort things out.

I think he is trying to escape pending charges in Thailand and that's the only reason he confessed to an unsolved high profile US crime. And hopefully he will have to be sent back to face the charges he's running from.

I really think this dude is a poser, but we will have to see. My mom is like "Why would someone say they did it if they didn't?" and I told her... "To get attention!" Weirder things have happened. I'm still with my dad on the whole thing. I think the brother killed her and the mom was trying to cover it up, so she wouldn't lose him too. Whatever happens, I hope we will soon know the truth....that adorable little girl deserves to rest in peace.
