I never had a problem with onions or their smell but I would get sick from the smell of cigarettes and cigarette smoke. Those have always bothered me though. Do you generally like onions? And also, this may pass as the pregnancy progresses. Many of my food aversions changed as I moved out of the first trimester. That was the most scent sensitive time for me. If you already are past the first trimester and you're repulsed by onions then just avoid them. When the baby is born things will quickly go back to normal.

It just depends on the pregnancy and the baby. Some women are repulsed by onions. Others are repulsed by oil smells. I, am repulsed by anything with oranges. It includes eating smelling, seeing, or even touching one. So, it's very normal, just take it in stride, and hope it goes away with time in your pregnancy! Good Luck!

OMG... I didn't have morning sickness with either of my pregnancies (thank God!) but I almost threw up one night. My husband had been out working on his car and had gone to a local mom-and-pop hamburger joint for dinner. (The type that has squishy buns, sauteed onion, etc.) Anyway, he came to bed REALLY late. He had washed his hands and face thoroughly, but I thought I was going to puke when he got in bed. He smelled like a combination of exhaust and fried onions. He had scrubbed his hands, too, with that GOOP stuff that mechanics use.
My sense of smell was incredibly sensitive during pregnancy, so I think this is what accounted for it. I didn't like the smell of fried onions during the whole pregnancy. With my second pregnancy, I was fine. I actually craved raw onions (and I hate raw onions!).

possibly attempt utilising a lotion you like the scent of? Lavender helps some women persons. additionally utilising an incense around your place. rather the only genuine subject you're able to do is purely stay faraway from the smells, yet which would be no longer common in public. i'd purely attempt sucking some no longer common candy and coating myself in a scent that I appreciate.

not really. some women might be and some might not. it depends on the pregnancy itself. different pregnancy brings about different experience.
you might be repulsed by the smell of onion during the first pregnancy but it might not be so for your second one.
just enjoy the journey and good luck!

I was in the first trimester...but I don't know about all pregnant women. It didn't last for the whole pregnancy though.
