It's 'hominid' and 'hominoid.' Hominids are any of the 'great ape' species in the same family as humans (Hominidae) - including extinct species and man himself. Hominoid refers to the broader category of apes in general, the superfamily Hominoidea.

Don't confuse either with humanoid, which is any roughly human like species. There are no actual humanoids on Earth, but they are numerous in fiction.
