I get confused with directions east west north and south. Kindly let me know exactly the direction in connection with rising sun, setting sun and other.
You can choose this way:
The direction you face when you see rising sun - east/west/north/south.
On your right side when you see rising sun east/west/north/south
On your left side when you see rising sun east/west/north/south
On your back side when you see rising sun - east/west/north/south

Directions North South East West

I always remember that the Sun sets in the west, because "sets" and "west" almost rhyme. And if the Sun sets in the west, it must rise in the east.

By the way, the sun doesn't rise DUE east or set DUE west except on the first day of spring and the first day of fall. For people in the northern hemisphere, the Sun rises south of east and sets south of west in the fall and winter; the Sun rises north of east and sets north of west in the spring and summer. Exactly how far north or south depends on your latitude.

From the southern hemisphere, the Sun still rises in the east, and sets in the west. The north/south thing i mentioned in the previous paragraph is the only thing that gets shifted.

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. If you were facing north, the sun would be rising from your right. Facing south, it would be rising from your left.

It is really very simple.

The sun is always rising from the east. So if you face the rising sun, north is to your left and south is to your right and west is to your back.

The sun is always setting to the west. So if you face the rising sun, north is to your right and south is to your left and east is to your back.

This is the most simple way i can explain it.

i have one simple way to remember it. i call it "Z NEWS"!! NEWS stands for the directions eg North East West and South and you will have to tint the letter Z about 15 degrees to ur right and if you u pretend you are writing the tinted Z you will say the letter N E W S which will help you memorize it. and by facing the sun which is to the east you will figure it out. ok?
