does using a shaving MACHINE prevent hair from growing thicker (crunchier)?

Ok when you shave your face with a razor it makes the softness of your skin go away and the hair on your face gets rough and crunchy do the shaving machines prevent it from getting more rough and crunchy or do they do the same? and is there anything you can use to prevent it from being crunchy? like some electronic machine or a cream for men .... anything?
