I invite Jess over. While she's there, my dad invites her to go shoppinga few days later. I would have invited Karen to go shopping with me, because I hadn't spent much time with her. I go shopping with Jess. She invites me to spend the night, on a school night, because I live far away from school. I didn't really want to, because that would make Karen mad that I was spending so much time with Jess. I was polite and went with Jess. I had forgotten that I had told Karen that I would give her a ride to school. Jess offered her a ride, but she got one with someone else instead. I had to go home with Jess so I could get my stuff from the night before. I normally go to Karen's house after school.

If I get my dad to pick me up from school then Karen will be even more mad. If I go to her house and she is already really mad, it would be worse.

I didn't lie to either of them at any time.

Help!

(And please don't say that I shouldn't be friends with either of them if they act like that.)

Just wanted to say that I changed the names.

(And no, I can't skip school.)

People shouldn't be mad because you have other friends. They should respect that and value the time you spend with them. Go to her house, you have nothing to be ashamed of. If she's mad that's her problem. Don't just avoid her because the silence can ruin a friendship. Pretty soon, you're both mad at each other and then you both can't remember why.

Just hang out and maybe she'll let it go.

Your dad took your friend Jess, shopping.. ooooooooooooooooooooooookay.

You may have to make a choice here.. Karen or Jess. Or some night invite them both over for a sleepover..
Can these two become friends..
would you be alright if they became friends, and on a few occasions, did their thing together, without inviting you..

They both sound as though they are jealous of the attention you give the other. There is only one way to handle this. Avoiding it trying to please both and not to offend either will result in undue stress for you and eventually both of them will abandon you as a friend. You need to talk to each of them and tell them you like them and the other gal, and you do not appreciate being put in the middle all the time. It is uncomfortable for you and you are stressed. OR get them together and have a talk saying much the same thing. Tell them you do NOT intend to push one away for the other but want to be friends with both and will do so. Now, if they cannot accept that, they are really not friends. If either or both try to make you choose between them, they DEFINITELY are not friends!!

Good luck!!!

WOW, complicated..

uh, ok, just go to school and go to Karen's, and later in the day, ask ur dad to drive u to Jess's house to pick up the stuff, or ask Jess to bring it in to school for you

if either of them get mad, just tell them the truth..hopefully they'll understand
