"The Chocolate War" by Robert Cormier is pretty good. So are his other books, "Beyond the Chocolate War," "Fade," & so forth. My favorite Robert Cormier book is "I am the Cheese." S.E. Hinton books like "That was then, this is now," I haven't read.
