i have a cousin that i sold a cell phone to but he doesnt want to pay me my money that he owes me am i able to take him to court for 60 dollars? he keeps advoiding me

he already had the phone for about a month now and he wants to return the phone back to me now so what can i do about that he doesnt want to pay me the money..he keeps giving me the run around

Small claims court is for $1500.00 and below. Is there anyway another family member, like his parents, can talk to him. If not, send him a letter, non-threatening, stating what he owes and for what, mail it certified, return receipt requested. Don't put your address or name on the envelope. This will prove you have sent him a notice of what he owes. You can also conclude the letter by saying that if he does not pay up within a certain period of time, such as 30 days, you intend to take him to small claims court where you will need to plead your case.

Ever seen a Bronx Tale (or was it a Bronx Story) with Chaz Palimentiri ( I can never spell his name) ? You can get rid of your cousin for ever, only cost you 60 bucks. Don't chase him for it, just cut him off.
Alternatively, ask him if he has money troubles and, as small an amount as it is, work out a payment plan or set a date for him to pay you. If he's avoiding you either he's a jerk or he's embarrassed that he doesn't have the money.

It wouldn't pay to take him to court because you will pay alot more for lawyer and court cost than you wanted for the phone to begin with and then you are out of alot of money.

That's crazy. I hate when people do that. If he didn't have the money he sould have just done without. Now he doesn't want to even talk to u and u was trying to help him. People are a trip I tell u.
