My whole life has had some major league scary sh*t happen.
I have been shot at during armed robberies when I worked at the gas station, I have seen people die and been totally helpless in preventing it and I could list all kinds of things that you people probably would not even believe, But I think the scariest thing that I can remember was being in a house when a tornado tore the roof of of it. Oh and I am sure that I have forgotten a lot if not the scariest thing in my life. But a twister ranks right up there.

when I was about 15 years old or so I was alone in my parents house. It was about two in the morning during the late school year, around the end of May so it was pretty warm out. I woke up at 2 AM alone in the house, my parents were out of town. The fan and a music box were on and I looked around in the dark. Then all the power in the room went out, I heard my parents yelling at me from down stairs to get down stairs now. After both of the voices were done, the power went back on and I was scared half to death. I went to my parents room, and they had come home, but were totally asleap. I think that it might have been a ghost or maby even a demon in the house. A few occurences happend after that, but none in the past many years. I am 25 now and remember it like it was yesterday.

Well one time my husband and I were crossing the mountain between Gatlinberg, TN and Cherokee, NC. It was nightime and it was so foggy that you could not see a foot in front of you. It didn't get like this until we were almost on top of the mountain. In alot of places there are no gaurdrails and I was sure we were not going to make it. The road was so curvy I thought we might drive off the side. When we finally started going down the other side of the mountain the fog went away and I was so relieved.

I was a police officer searching for a robbery suspect in an abandoned apartment building. Me and my partner actually heard the gunshots and responded to the scene to find the victim, bleeding from his head and pointing in the direction where the gunman ran off. My partner and me entered the darkened building with another police officer and went to the second floor where it was believed where the gunman was hiding. Other officers were on the way and we should have waited for them. We had to use our flashlights, and that is dangerous because it creates a huge target for anyone who wants to shoot at you. The abandoned apartment we entered had stolen property stacked up in it, empty crack vials strewn about, scales for weighing drugs, and the widows were all broken. Very carefully, we walked through the place careful not to trip over the junk tossed about the place. When we were done checking the tiny apartment, I entered a room my partner said he checked already. There was so much we had to voucher (and we found the victim's wallet) that we began the proceess of taking inventory. By that time other officers were arrriving on the scene. While looking around, I felt the presence of someone behind me. I spun around with my gun in my hand and the suspect was hiding behind the door with his gun in his hand. The moment I aimed my pistol at him, he tossed his gun out of the broken window. He was arrested and my partner spent the rest of the night apologizing to me for not checking the room. To this day, I can't understand why I am not dead.

Nearly renting an apartment from a manager who seemed rather odd (He asked my husband and I what kind of birth control we used.) A year later, I read a brief in the newspaper where he had been sent to prison for 40 years for being the Pillowcase Rapist. He would break into the apartments of the complex he managed and rape the women. He had raped at least half a dozen women. I remembered the name because it was very odd - Cary for a man.

It would have to be when I was at my aunt's house one day and we were all standing in the back yard talking, then all of a sudden I heard someone walk up behind us and say get on the ground and put your hands behind your head.I thought we were being robbed and having a gun at the back of my head didn't help either. Then I turned around and it was the police they were looking for some guy that beat his wife. After they realize they had the wrong people and were at the wrong house they didn't even apologize.

Seeing my husband laying on the ground after being thrown from
a motorcycle and hitting a tree. Rescue workers did not think he was going to make it. They finally got a pulse in route to the hospital. That was on May 13th, and he still has not been able to return to work, but at least he is still with us.
