I've asked for help with this computer problem on here before but I couldn't fix the problem from the answers I got.

It has changed some but it's still doing the same. When I turn my computer on and windows is starting up it shows my background picture I have set. While stuff is loading the picture disappears and than my icons appear with the blue background and than the blue color disappears and becomes white.

I click on the right mouse button but it doesn't show active desktop and I can make changes to the desktop under properties and hit apply but it still shows a white background. It only shows the changes when I turn off the computer and turn it back on.

I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. I've tried everything I know but if anyone can understand what I'm trying to explain please help me.

Just a hunch:

Right click on desktop, go to Properties.
Select "Desktop" tab, click "Customize Desktop" button. Click the "Web" folder.

If there are any web pages there, clear the check boxes in front of them or delete them.

my cousins computer does the same thing...
her son has downloaded sooooo many viruses and crap...
but she won't let me re-format the macheine....

i think a reformating and restore would settle your issue and my cousins as well...its one of those unexplained craptacular anomilies...

you could try to use tuneup utilties 2006, it fixes a bunch of stuff, and the free trial is nothing to sneeze at... give that a shot before killing your machine and restoring it...
i should give it a shot on my cousins computer now i think about it...
