My 18 year old brother called me that the other day for liking a Fall Out Boy song.
I had no idea what it was either.. He says they like certain music and are emotional, sorta depressed but definitely not goth...

Emo is short 4 emotional. but the actual meaning of Emo is emotionally Dark. Basically a relative of Gothic

Its a type of music now, its sort of new wave punk but its based on the mid 1980's music scene.........it did move to more of a indie type music in the 90's but now it doesnt really give a specific genre now more of a looser term.......
