Name of a movie?

There's a movie i sa when i was young but forgotten the name. The movie starts with a boy and a man in those sinbal costume and the man has a parrot perch on his shoulders and 1 side of his eye is covered like those pirates. The boy was then captured and put at a japanese war prisoner camp and he made friends with a japanese boy.I think towards the end of this movie, the jap boy was sent to war and when allied soldiers rescued the boy they kill the jap boy.And the boy though it was god's light but it is actually the atomic bombs dropped on japan.Pls tell me this name.Do not play with me or i report you.
