It depends on which tool you used to partition the drive. But u can merge both partitions using Powerquest Partition Magic version 8 and newer. Other you can, use the same tool to resize the c: partition but i think you must empty your d: partition to resize c:. If you still have the software you used to parttion your drive, read it´s help to see if you are able to "undo" the changes u made.-
I´m sorry if this sounds to lecturing but i must tell you: Always read the help of the software you use: you can find there different solutions you never thought could be possible. If you get Partition Magic read how u can solve your problem with it in the Help.-

YOu wil need to delete and recreate the partitions. Some programs such as Partition Magic may be able to do this with minimal loss, but check all software documentation before you try.
Other than that, you're looking at the following:
Step one, however will be to save all the informatoin from both drives. Then use a bootable floppy (or bootable CD) and use the disk creation program which probably came with your large drive. (This is an important step, as programs such as FDISK may not give you full usability for larger drives.)
Once the partition is created, then format the partion. You can either copy over your OS and files from your storage, or reinstall your OS and then copy data files.

You can use partitioning software to perform the task you desire but you have to remember that this will destroy any data you have on the drive and you will lose it all. Make sure this is what yoou want to do prior to performing the repartition.

You can't without wiping your harddrive and repartitioning it into 1.
You wouldn't see a performance increase anyways.
Something like Partition magic MIGHT work, I guarantee nothing.

Norton Partition Magic will do the trick for ca$h, but gparted can do it for free with a boot disk. You may have to destroy one of the partitions if you use gparted.
gparted boot cd:

you cant put them back into 1 drive, unless you format it.
if really want 1 drive format it, but be sure to have windows installer and motherboard installer.
you can put your files on D: drive
it is being partition for backup purposes.
try to copy your files on c: drive and paste them to D: drive
I think your D: drive is not formatted so you cant save on it..
to format it, right click on D: drive then click format then click start
wait for the process to finished and thats it... you can now used it..

You must format, young man, you must format. That means erase the entire hard drive and start over.
That means save everything. If this sounds like a big pain in the hiney, then just leave it the way it is.

why put them together? it would be safe if they're separated.
you put your OS and system files on the C and your personal and other files on the D.
if you don't want, try a partition software.
