It depends as what you are referring to. If gems,try moissanite. It has a hardness of about 9.5. It's between corumdum(rubies,sapphires;which are 9 on the Moh''s Scale),diamonds are 10-the HARDEST NATURAL SUBSTANCE known to man. Man has attempted numerous years,but no man has ever produced a diamond. Only nature has that distinction. Many czs may come close in apperance,but never in hardness. If you're speaking of metals,I would venture titanium. But scientists say that spider's silk out rivals in strength anything man has ever produced.
