I'm a 18 and sexually active. I have been since I was just 17. My bf and I ALWAYS use a condom without question. We have been really careful not to have any accidental anythings. But, we would rather not use one, at least once, to have that feeling... ya know... but would NEVER do it unless I had birth control pills. I know I can get them myself now that I am 18, but I'm always with my parents. Is there anyway to get it without a doctor's prescription or visit?

I know he won't "creep around" with some girl. It's kinda hard to explain how I know. He doesn't get many girls before me. He's pretty clingy too. Not that it's a bad thing...

And I don't mind getting examined first. I'm 99.9% sure I'm clean.

This might be too much info but in response to the "Always with my parents", I mean like... when I go out somewhere. My bf lives a different state. We see each other all the time though. If I go there, it's a lot less hectic and supervised. We can kinda be "free" there. When he comes here, we can only do "something" at 2 in the AM and be VERY quiet about it.

How is it that you're sexually active if you're ALWAYS with your parents?? It seems you're exaggerating a bit; besides which, it's time for you to become more independent.

You must have a prescription for birth control pills, patches or others that use hormones. If you go to college, the clinic on campus should be able to help you out. If they don't do the examinations or prescriptions, they should have information on a nearby Women's Clinic or family planning center.

Nope.
You have to have a pelvic exam by a doctor and get the prescription.
Keep the condoms, the pill is only 99 pct effective when taken every day at the same time. and then it generally takes a full course of them to become fully effective.

Besides, Even if you ditch the condom and get on BC, what are you gonna do if you find your man creeping around with some other chick and she has ghonorreah or worse, AIDS?
The pill wont protect you from that.

Yes, you can go to Family Planning. They won't tell you're parents (especially because you're 18). Unfortunately you're going to have to have an exam, but they'll give you birth control without a dotor's precription. Also, you can get free condoms (just in case you decide you need more) ;)

I think you pretty much have to see your doctor for a prescription. You can go to the doctor alone, now that you are 18. If not, go to the health department, they should be able to give you some.

Yes, but probably not legally, and I wouldn't suggest it, but in the interest of pursuing truth, here is a link.

BTW I completely agree with Colleen O above.

I had reservations about giving this link, but figure you've gotta be 18 to use your own credit card anyway, right?

Nope, you need to have a medical exam and get a prescription. Try Planned Parenthood. How are you doing it with your bf if you are "always" with your parents.

Nope no way...and I suggest keeping the condom. birth control pills are not 100% effective and you have to take them for at least two to four weeks before the ARE effective, plus birth control pills do not prevent sexually transmitted diseases or HIV.

I would just go to your doctor, or call planned parenthood and see if they can do anything, but you do have to get checked out. The first time I went to my primary, so you can do that without your parents knowing.
