That is the only way I can explain how I know how to draw. I can "feel" my pictures as I'm drawing them.

You have just described why you are an artist. People who are not find this difficult to understand. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Eh, I'm more about seeing what I draw...for the longest time, I've been able to look at the different shapes and lines in an object, and copy what I see.
But my real explanation on "how I know how to draw" is years of interest in art along with years of practice :op

If by "feel" you mean adding texturing to the subject you are drawing, then the answer is yes. As an author, I frequently sketch characters and objects as realistically as possible so I can describe them well in the story.

If you mean in terms of emotion, I suppose to a certain extent. I really use my talents as an outlet for creativity - not emotional gratification.

Great question!

I have been drawing ever since I could remember! If you can't feel what you are drawing, maybe you are drawing something you are not proud of. Try to draw something you love say children, animals, landscapes, anime, characters from your favorite movies, fantasy, ect... Art is endless! I draw anime, and people (usually female). I specialize in animals and fantasy art, (dragons, elves, ect...) Just think and concentrate while you draw. And start easy, don't jump right into a new art form, say jumping from cute animals to selene from Underworld! Believe me I know what I'm talking about.

Good Luck!

I'm sure some peope do, just like some people feel how to play music without really knowing why. It's called artistic ability in the absence of a better explanation. congratulations if you have it. Send me a drawing.

Your photo appears to be drawing from a drug affected brain.

My daughter is an artist and I do have knowledge in this area. She won't draw unless she feels the magic, I know what you are saying.
She throws some brilliant drawings away because they don't meet her standards. Get a new pic chookie.

Not really, sometimes I just feel like drawing, and then the feeling might end that day. And I'll end up finishing a day or a week later.

I feel what I'm drawing and it's apparent in the finished work. I'm and artist and I've always known that I'm a visual. It was later in life that I realized that I feel things physically making me more of a kinesthetic. It's intense enough to say that it has even defined my life.

yes, I "feel" when I am drawing :)
the most wonderful thing is when someone else is looking at the drawing and can "feel" same :)

that's a gift - and even if others do not feel the same feelings when they experience your drawings, do not be deterred. Draw! and take good care of your hands. - this from a church organist with a broken arm.
