Not only will it run on regular, it is recommended.

"In CX guise, the 2006 Lucerne is powered by GM’s oldie-but-a-goody 3.8-liter, overhead valve, 12-valve V6 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission of similar vintage. ... Regular 87 octane gas works just fine with an EPA fuel economy rating of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway."

I just got off Buick.com and the 197 hp V6 can get 29mpg if you look at the gas door or owners manual that's is where the required fuel octane number is. Another Car? Hyundai Azzeria is a very close comparison more HP 265 hp same mileage. And look closely Hyundai Is beating GM in almost every category Fit finish wood grain door pulls Seat comfort. I hate to say it If I had to choose in that car range Hyundai wins out. I own a 2006 Pontiac GTO and 1999 Cadillac Eldorado

Yes. All cars can run on regular unleaded gas without harming the motor. The difference between "regular" and "supreme" is only a few percent octane levels. I would honestly worry about a car which could not run on regular unleaded, because it indicates that the car had faulty engineering to begin with.

not safely because the fuel and timing are set to run on a higher octane gas only, but you can take it to a shop and they can alter the computor to reduce overall timing and such to allow using the cheaper gas but its not going to make a difference because your gas mileage will actually decrease and performance will go out the window
