I'd like it to be not Outlook, but the Excite.com e-mail page instead.

I fully support ben in what he says, but if Excite does not appear there that is because it is not an actual application, just a set of web pages. Because its not a program like Outlook, you would have to theoretically download a small file that would set Excite as your default email program. This would, again, theoretically, come from excite.com, so if you can find some kind of file there then you can change it. If not, there probably is no way to do it because its just a set of pages.

***********I would like to add that the comment below is *incorrect* in saying that hotmail is the only available default mail program. I myself have everything set to Yahoo! as my default mail program which i did by downloading a file to change registry settings.

before any stereotypical comments are made, i woudl like to say that just because i am level one does not mean i know nothing.

You cannot change the default program to be excite.com as it does not have an "API" as such to allow this to happen. the only website that can do this is hotmail (since hotmail IS owned by microsoft and hence was integrated with Internet Explorer).

sorry.. nothing you can do about this one. not even the comment above would help.
