Does anyone else have troubles with "Advent" baby bottles leaking? These are the 2nd set we bought, and they leak too. Am I a complete moron and don't know how to work these. All my other bottles work just fine.

Yes I have had trouble with my avent bottles as well. They will leak if the dont get the seal right. My advice is to go with another brand of bottles.

I live in SA and here I think they are one of the most popular bottles. My baby only started on a bottle at 4 months and I found she preferred the Avent far more than the other 3 brands that I tried! They do not leak if used correctly.

I used the Advent bottles with both of my children, and did have some leaking... you just have to make extra sure that the top is sealing correctly. Sometimes the seal just wasn't lined up correctly when I'd put the bottle together, and I'd have to readjust it. Pull up on the nipple when it is in the ring that goes on top until it audibly pops into place. Hope this helps!

I used Avent too. I had a problem 2 or 3 times because if you screw the lid on too tight it pulls the base of the nipple and then it leaks. Make sure the nipple is pulled through the ring correctly and when you tighten the lid (ring with nipple) onto the bottle make sure you're not making it too tight. If all else fails use a different type of bottle. Good luck!!

Well if you are using Advent bottles for your baby the problem may be that Advent makes bike water bottles, hopefully you are using Avent! ;) yes, the older bottles (colored plastic) have some issues, though rarely have we had the new ones leak, make sure the nipple is squeaky clean and on tight...

I have always used Avent and have never had a problem with them leaking. Just make sure that you have the right nipples for the type of bottle that you are using. Avent's disposable bottle and standard bottle nipples are not interchangable. Also, no other nipples work with the Avent system. I did have a hard time with the adjustable flow nipples but did eventually get it right.

I have 2 sets of the 4 ounces and just wen to buy a set of the 9 ounces a week ago. Since my baby was born I have had no problem with them at all. Make sure the top is on right because if its not it will leak...even if its on right but not tight enough.

YES !!!!! In the year 2000 the bottles were very durable. But in 2003 when we had our 2nd child we bought a second set and they always leaked. We thought they were the best but apparently thaey aren't

Who has the time to struggle with a bottle, when you have a hungry baby.

I would suggest returning them and opt for something else

I used the Venti-Aire bottles and thought they were great.
The do have extra pieces, since the bottle screws off, but I never had a problem with them leaking.
